About Stew

Stew Fettes was born and raised in Minton, Saskatchewan. After completing his Grade 12 education he moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan to his first job in the Automotive Industry.  Ten years later he started his own business in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1971.

Over the years Stew Fettes has owned and operated over a dozen successful small business enterprise’s. Well known in the business community for his high principles and integrity, he has always been a fierce supporter of small business and their employees.

Stew Fettes has always been active on the political scene and has always been keenly interested in what the politicians are doing, and how they are affecting the lives of all Canadians in their daily lives. The last enterprise has been taking on a new career in Real Estate which he began in the year 2000. With the passage of Bill C-25 on June 28, 2008, Stew Fettes feels very strongly that the Federal Government has crossed over the line and gone to far into the daily lives of Canadians.

Bill C-25 has mandated Realtors® in Canada to collect personal information from their clients whether they are selling or buying Real Estate and to keep hard copies of that personal information for a period of six years. Stew Fettes believes with millions of documents containing personal information floating around the market place  it will be subject to abuse and identity theft on a massive scale.

Stew Fettes has put his petition on his website, www.thecanadatoday.com for Canadians in all professions and walks of life who wish to support this noble cause to sign on by clicking on the link at the top of the page, “Petition Page” . The Petition will be delivered to Parliament early in the fall.
